Breathing is considered very important in Yoga. It is believed that Prana - a life energy, flows through a human body and it provides vitality to it. Breathing is considered as a physical manifestation of Prana. Therefore, if one has control over ones breath then that person controls his or her energy. Yoga poses are generally done with deep, diaphragmatic breathing. This increases oxygen flow to the brain and body, easing stress and fatigue, and boosting energy.
